Overview
Cala Comte (also known as Platges de Comte) is one of Ibiza’s most celebrated and visually stunning beaches. Located on the westernmost tip of the island, it is famous for its crystal-clear, swimming-pool-like turquoise waters and golden sands. The beach offers a magnificent vista overlooking several small uninhabited rocky islets, creating a dramatic coastal landscape that represents the quintessential Mediterranean paradise.
Beyond its natural beauty, Cala Comte is globally legendary for its sunsets. Hundreds of visitors gather daily along the rocky cliffs and at the local restaurants to witness the sun set directly into the sea. The beach is split into three main areas: two sandy stretches separated by a rocky headland, and a tiny, more secluded cove popular with naturists at the far end.
Due to its fame, the beach experiences extreme crowding during peak season, making early arrival or the use of public transport (such as buses or ferries from San Antonio) essential. The surrounding area has minimal shade, so bringing parasols and high-factor sunscreen is highly recommended.
